Ms. Pauline Mokou-Paledi is a Senior Consultant HR Professional and a Capacity Building Specialist with more than 18 years of experience dealing in human resources functions as well as training projects whose outreach transverse Southern Africa and beyond the African continent. Ms. Paledi is adept at providing technical backstopping, technical assistance to national and regional training institutions and research centers. She is experienced at striking strategic partnerships with various international development cooperating partners at bilateral, multilateral levels, with organizations such as USAID, World BANK, Commonwealth Secretariat, European Union and NEPAD.
Ms. Paledi was the first Executive Director of the Botswana Diamond Manufacturing Association (BDMA) from 2011 to 2015. BDMA represents 17 leading sight holders with 4500 employees in Botswana, China, Israel and South Africa. Ms. Paledi provided leadership for the operations of the Association, representing the collective interests of the members of the Association in Botswana.
At international level, she was appointed Technical Adviser /Change Manager to the Executive Permanent Secretary, Head of the Public Service of the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2007. In 2008 she was appointed adviser to His Excellency the Governor and the Public Service Commission on institutional issues focusing on public sector reform. She purposefully encouraged women to be agents of change.
Prior to her appointment to the West Indies as Change Manager/Adviser, Ms. Paledi worked for the Commonwealth Secretariat as a Human Resources Expert based in London. She was attached to Africa Recruit, a joint programme of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Commonwealth Business Council and the New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD) that focuses on addressing brain drain from Africa and seeks ways and means to attract and retain much needed skills in Africa.
Prior to joining the Commonwealth Ms. Paledi spent six years in Zimbabwe on assignment with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Food Agriculture Natural Resources Unit which was responsible for the highly successful regional food security programme in 14 SADC Member States. She was the Regional Training and Information Officer in the Regional Training Programme, which was jointly financed by the European Union and the SADC member states.
Pauline Paledi has also served on various boards and institutions such as the Human Resources Development Advisory Council, Graduate School of Business Advisory Board at the University of Botswana, the Pan- African Competitiveness Forum among others.
Ms Mokou-Paledi, holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Resources Development from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from the University of Connecticut, Hartford, USA.
