What We Do

With our vision of an Africa Capable of Achieving Its Own Development we at the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) work to build strategic partnerships, extend grants, offer technical support and provide access to relevant knowledge related to capacity building in Africa. Our current 5-year Strategic Plan aims to promote the emergence of Skilled People and Strong Institutions to Transform Africa through delivering on our 2017-2021 Strategy based on four pillars: (i) Enabling effective delivery of continental development priorities; (ii) Supporting countries to achieve tangible development results; (c) Enhancing non-state actors, private sector and civil society to contribute to sustainable development; and (4) Leveraging knowledge and learning to increase development effectiveness.

Erastus Mwencha

The recognition of ACBF as the African Union’s Specialized Agency for Capacity Development launches the beginning of a new era for capacity building by ACBF, which will require an appropriate level of political commitment and financial support from all stakeholders.
