The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) joins over 3000 delegates who are gathered in Nairobi, Kenya for the second High-Level Meeting (HLM2) of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation. The HLM2 is taking place in Nairobi, Kenya between 28 November and 1 December 2016. HLM2 aims to amplify the positive impact of development co-operation over the next 15 years shaping how existing and new development actors can partner to implement Agenda 2030 and realise Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Thomas C. Munthali, the ACBF Director of Knowledge, Monitoring and Evaluation will lead the discussion on understanding the capacity imperatives for effectively utilising technical cooperation in support of the 2030 Agenda. The discussion is part of a side event on “Technical Cooperation and Capacity Development as Aid: Assessing Progress on Implementing Principles for Effective Development Cooperation”. The event is being co-organized by ACBF in conjunction with Reality of Aid and Learning Network on Capacity Development.
The ACBF’s exhibition stand at the HLM2 market place is generating a lot of interest among the development partners. The Africa Capacity Reports are proving to be very popular especially the latest entitled “The Africa Capacity Report ACR 2015: Capacity Imperatives for Domestic Resource Mobilization in Africa”.
Also on promotion are over 10 ACBF new forthcoming publications on building capacity for the successful implementation of the African Union’s Agenda 2063. These publications are going to be launched early 2017. HLM2 is proving a great platform for knowledge exchange, learning and networking.
