I am Benedict Musengele, currently working with COMESA. COMESA is the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, which is the regional integration body comprising of 19 member states stretching all the way from Libya down to Swaziland.
What does your organisation do?
Specifically ACBF is funding our project to enhance the capacity of Comesa, that is both the Comesa member states and secretariat in economic trade policy analysis and research.
How has ACBF had a positive impact on your organisation?
The impact of the ACBF is highly being felt within the secretariat and also within the 19 member states because as I have highlighted we are always receiving request and also we are taking the trainings to the members states themselves and training them on how they can ensure whatever policy they are making is evidence based and even when they come for negotiations they don’t come to negotiations the way I have come just standing, they come with well -informed analytical results : if we do A the impact will be B, If we do B the impact will be C …
